Salida Middle School is the home of 340 vivacious, bright, curious and fun loving 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders, who are committed to learning, growing and becoming outstanding stewards to our school, community and world.
We have compiled a building staff of outstanding teachers, aids, counselors, secretaries, custodians and administrators who are committed to ensuring that each and every student here at SMS be successful both in and out of the classroom every single day.
Our academic programming is aimed at preparing each child for success not only here, but in high school as well as in post-secondary learning opportunities. Our focus on Colorado Academic Standards, Common Core Standards as well 21st Century Learning Skills are evident in everything that we do in class.
We also offer a variety of elective classes which include Band, Art, Music, Computers, Spanish, Physical Education, Gifted/Talented programming as well as project based learning classes. We believe that these offerings along with our after school athletic and club opportunities afford SMS the best, well rounded educational options in the area.
As our mission suggests, our challenge is to develop our students to be well educated, productive and responsible citizens in a 21st century world where knowledge, skill and the ability to adapt and adjust are key elements for both our success as well as our student’s future success.
